КУТУБХОНА, КИТОБ ВА МЕН

This article describes the state of information and library centers at the National Library of Uzbekistan, as well as their adaptation to the modern requirements of the time. In particular, the authors' experience is used to highlight ways of attracting users to libraries. A comparative analysis of the statistical data of libraries of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the indicators of information and library centers in such districts of the Fergana region as Dangara, Baghdad, Altinsay, Uzbekistan and Yazyavan is given. It also considers the existing problems in the replenishment of the book fund and the receipt of periodicals in the district (city) information and library centers, as well as ways to solve them and measures to enrich the funds. The qualities that a modern librarian should possess are highlighted: taking into account the reader audience and its preferences when choosing books, the need to reflect various genres and topics to effectively meet the needs of the library. It indicates what aspects and professional qualities are expected of a librarian in modern conditions.
