The article analyzes the metaphorical language in the filmography of director Ali Khamraev. Metaphor in his work is not merely an artistic device but a worldview foundation of the director's method. In A. Khamraev’s films, natural elements (water, desert, fire, sky), objects, color, and sound become structure-forming elements of dramaturgy, creating multi-layered philosophical narratives. Special attention is paid to recurring motifs (birds as a symbol of freedom, water as a boundary and purification, desert as a trial), as well as the evolution of the metaphorical system from early to late works. The article emphasizes the rootedness of Khamraev’s metaphors in Uzbek cultural tradition (the poetics of Navoi, the symbolism of traditional life) and their universality, which allows for a dialogue with world cinema.
