ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The article examines the destructive impact of environmental heat stress on the reproductive function and semen quality of breeding bulls in artificial insemination centers. Data are presented on the disruption of testicular thermoregulation when ambient temperatures rise above critical levels. Based on the analysis of international and domestic research, the mechanisms underlying the suppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-gonadal axis, the reduction of luteinizing hormone and testosterone secretion, and the development of oxidative stress leading to sperm DNA damage are described. The negative effects of extreme heat on qualitative (motility, viability) and quantitative (ejaculate volume, concentration) semen parameters, as well as an increase in morphological abnormalities and the suppression of sexual reflexes, are characterized. To address this problem, the necessity of implementing modern cooling systems and enriching diets with antioxidants is substantiated.
