This article analyzes the changes that took place in Uzbek theatre during the second half of the 20th century (1950–1975). In particular, it examines innovations in dramaturgy and directing, as well as changes in themes, genres, and repertoire. The artistic-aesthetic and socio-ideological characteristics of notable performances created during this period are also explored.
