This article examines the role of the Arab Republic of Egypt as a significant player in regional security in the Middle East. The article examines the main directions of Egypt’s foreign policy and defense strategy, which are aimed at maintaining regional stability, combating international terrorism, and strengthening the country’s military and political influence in the context of transformations in the modern system of international relations. Particular attention is paid to analyzing the factors that have contributed to the intensification of Egypt’s security policy in recent decades, including shifts in the regional balance of power, increasing instability in neighboring states, and the growing competition among regional and global actors. The article also explores Egypt’s involvement in addressing regional conflicts and crises, including the Israeli–Palestinian conflict, as well as security challenges in the Red Sea and the Eastern Mediterranean. It also analyzes Egypt’s role in regional and international cooperation mechanisms aimed at ensuring collective security, as well as its interactions with leading global powers and regional partners. The article also emphasizes the significance of Egypt’s historical and civilizational heritage, which serves as a crucial foundation for shaping the country’s contemporary political and diplomatic narratives. It is also noted that contemporary Egyptian statehood actively leverages this factor to enhance its role in regional processes and position the country as a key player in the political development of the Arab world. The study concludes that Egypt, with its significant military potential, strategic geographical position and developed diplomatic resources, is one of the key actors in ensuring security and stability in the Middle East. Egypt’s security policy is characterized by a desire to strengthen the regional balance of power, develop mechanisms for multilateral cooperation and actively participate in the resolution of regional conflicts.
