ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
Throughout the three-millennia-long history of Uzbek statehood, the Timurid dynasty represents one of the most distinguished periods of cultural, economic, political, and military development. This era is remarkable not only for its internal governance and cultural advancement but also for its substantial accomplishments in the sphere of foreign policy. According to historical sources, during the reigns of Amir Temur (1336–1405) and his successor Shahrukh Mirza (1377–1447), the Timurid dynasty held a markedly superior political and geopolitical position in its diplomatic relations with the Ottoman dynasty. This predominance was clearly manifested in the strategic interactions between the two dynasties, in their military-diplomatic relations, and in the process of shaping the regional balance of power. This article, drawing upon Arabic, Persian, Ottoman, and European sources, analyzes the nature of the diplomatic relations conducted between the Timurid and Ottoman dynasties, as well as the outcomes that resulted from these interactions.
