This scientific article is dedicated to a comprehensive analysis of the contributions made by Russian, Soviet, Arab, and Uzbek Orientalists to the initial formation and development of Islamic statehood. The research process involved an in-depth analysis of the views of Russian and Soviet scholars, including I.Yu. Krachkovsky, V.V. Bartold, A.Yu. Yakubovsky, and I.P. Petrushevsky, on the causes of the emergence of Islamic statehood, its political structure, governance mechanisms, and characteristics. The article also examines in detail the various stages of Islamic history, political and social structures, traditions of governance, and attitudes towards historical sources in the books of Arab authors, particularly Muhammad Khudari, Hasan Ibrahim Hasan, Abdulmunim Majid, Mahmud Shakir, Akram Ziya Umari, and Muhammad Sallobi. A significant part of the article is devoted to the scientific legacy of Uzbek orientalists. This section analyzes the translation and interpretation of the Quran by Usmanov Mutallib Akhmadovich, the research of U. Uvatov dedicated to the study of the legacy of Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, Mahmud Zamakhshari, and Abu Mansur Moturidi, as well as the translation and analysis of classical Arabic sources by Sh.S. Kamoliddinov. The significance of A. Hasanov’s research on the history of ancient Arabia, the Mamluk era, and the early period of Islam is highlighted, as well as the significance of the works of Sheikh Muhammad Sadik Muhammad Yusuf.
