ARTICLE ANNOTATION

The article analyzes the evolution of the training process for library professionals in connection with the stages of development of the library sector and information technologies. As historical periods changed, libraries began to transform from centers for preserving knowledge into digital and intellectual information centers. In this process, the content of the librarian profession, educational fields, and professional competencies also underwent fundamental changes. The study highlights the formation of library education across historical stages, the processes of digital transformation, and the new competencies emerging in the modern era.
