ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
The study analyzed the reliability of the ERA5-Land and NASA POWER databases in assessing the amount of precipitation in the territory of Uzbekistan based on a systematic comparison with observational data from 68 ground meteorological stations for the period 2005-2024. The analyses were conducted by monthly, annual, and 12-hour total precipitation, as well as by elevation zones (h1000 m). The obtained results scientifically substantiate the expediency of using the ERA5-Land database as the main source for assessing precipitation and conducting climate analysis in the territory of Uzbekistan. The high spatial resolution, low error rates, and high compatibility of ERA5-Land data with ground observations provide significant advantages in the future in short- and mediumterm climate analysis, hydrometeorological modeling, and assessment of hazardous precipitation events. NASA POWER data can be used as an additional resource for regional or general assessments
