ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
This article scientifically analyzes the system of Greek and Latin affixes widely used in medical terminology, their structural features, and semantic functions. Affixes - prefixes and suffixes - are one of the main morphological tools in the formation of medical terms, through which the type, location, severity of the disease, and pathological conditions are expressed. The article examines the use of Greek and Latin affixes in clinical terms using examples, showing their semantic load and their place in the terminological system. The study also comparatively analyzes the differences and similarities between Greek and Latin affixes. Greek affixes are mainly used to express pathological processes and disease names, while Latin affixes are important in designating anatomical structures and their location. This ensures the international standardization of medical terminology and its formation as a clear scientific system. The results of the study show that in-depth study of the system of affixes is important for the correct understanding, translation, and practical application of medical terms.
