ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
This study evaluated the biological efficacy of the probiotic preparations Probiocolit and Probiokorm at 2% and 3% concentrations against NPV (grasserie disease) in the local silkworm hybrid “Mayin tola 1” and the foreign hybrid “Liangguangzhengjiao.” The effects of these preparations on larval survival, disease incidence, mortality, and productivity traits, including cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, and silk ratio, were assessed. The results demonstrated that Probiokorm at a 3% concentration exhibited higher efficacy than the 2% concentration. The highest survival rates were 98.3 ± 0.87% in the foreign hybrid and 80.0 ± 3.5% in the local hybrid. These findings indicate that probiotic preparations are promising biological agents for enhancing silkworm resistance to Bombyx mori nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) infection, strengthening biological protection, and improving cocoon production efficiency.
