This thesis is devoted to a comparative transport-geographical analysis of population mobility and the public transport system within the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent city. The study examines the relationship between residents’ daily travel patterns and the spatial distribution of public transport infrastructure based on GIS technologies. Using the QGIS software, service areas (buffer zones) with radii of 300–500 meters were generated around public transport stops, and a spatial comparison with residential areas was conducted. The results of the study indicate that population mobility in the central parts of the Shaykhontohur district is relatively well served by public transport, whereas in some peripheral areas pedestrian accessibility to transport services is limited. The obtained scientific results can be used to improve territorial planning of urban transport systems and to develop practical recommendations aimed at increasing population mobility.
