The article is devoted to the study of the process of forming reading competence in future library specialists. It examines key concepts and methods that contribute to the development of critical and analytical skills in working with texts. Special attention is paid to the role of higher library education in the development of reading culture, the application of modern technologies, and the practical training of students. The article proposes teaching methods and approaches to organizing the educational process aimed at enhancing the competence of future librarians in the field of reading activities.
