ARTICLE ANNOTATION

quote
This article examines the scientific views of the great hadith scholar Abu Hatim Muhammad ibn Hibban Busti in the field of jarh and ta’dil, which are important branches of hadith science, specifically regarding the acceptance of narrations of people of innovation (Ahl al-Bid’ah). The research consists of analyzing the criteria developed by Ibn Hibban in the works “Siqat”, “Majruhin”, and “Sahih”, as well as determining their practical application. The article also employs descriptive-analytical and comparative approaches: primary sources from Ibn Hibban’s works are analyzed and compared with the views of the scholars such as Imam Bukhari, Muslim, and Ibn Hajar Asqalani. The results show that Ibn Hibban divided bid’ah into types that lead to disbelief and corruption, and considered it acceptable to accept hadith from the people of innovation who lead to corruption if they are truthful, pious and reliable in tradition, and do not call others to their bid’ah. This balanced approach served to preserve the Sunnah and prevent disruptions in the chains of transmission.
