This article analyzes the psychological and pedagogical foundations of developing intellectual and creative abilities of higher education students based on a systemic approach. The study employs methods such as analysis of contemporary psychological and pedagogical literature, comparative analysis, and theoretical generalization. As a result, the concept of “intellectual and creative abilities” is clarified and its structural model is developed. The proposed model consists of five key components: critical thinking, creative thinking, problem-solving competence, algorithmic-computational thinking, and reflective self-development. For each component, specific indicators, assessment criteria, and diagnostic tools are systematized. In addition, three levels of development of students’ intellectual and creative abilities (low, medium, high) are substantiated. The study also identifies six key psychological and pedagogical patterns underlying the formation and development of these abilities, providing their theoretical justification. The findings can serve as a theoretical foundation for further empirical research and the development of effective pedagogical technologies.
