This article analyzes the main issues in the transportation systems of modern cities, particularly the excessive number of cars, which leads to traffic jams, environmental pollution, and health hazards. The role of bicycles and other environmentally friendly modes of transport as solutions to these problems is also highlighted. The article scientifically demonstrates the advantages of bicycle transport, its positive impact on physical health, reduction in environmental harm, and economic efficiency. Research conducted in Dresden, Beijing, and Belgium, as well as statistical data from various countries, are presented to analyze the positive influence of bicycle infrastructure development on urban transport policies. The article also explores the movement characteristics of cyclists of different age groups and scientific findings on the health impacts of bicycle transport. This study emphasizes the need to promote cycling and other sustainable transport in the cities of Uzbekistan.
