This article examines the issues of ensuring environmental safety in the design of highways from an engineering perspective. Environmental safety is considered not as an independent ecological problem, but as a factor determining the technical stability and operational efficiency of road infrastructure. The study analyzes pavement structures, drainage systems, and the influence of relief and climatic conditions on the operational performance of highways in Uzbekistan. Based on a comparative analysis of international experience, engineering approaches applicable to national conditions are substantiated.
