Road traffic accidents (RTAs) represent a significant global health burden and a leading cause of death and disability. Using World Health Organization (WHO) data, this study quantifies the magnitude of RTAs, identifies risk factors, and examines impacts across different regions. Analysis reveals that low- and middle-income countries bear a disproportionate share of fatalities, with vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and motorcyclists at highest risk. The study concludes with recommendations for policy and prevention efforts to meet global targets for reducing traffic-related mortality and morbidity.
