The article is devoted to the analysis of the corpus of ego-documents that illuminate the life and work of the outstanding surgeon and clergyman Valentin Felixovich Voyno-Yasenetsky (Archbishop Luka; 1877–1961) in Siberia. Scientific novelty. The authors have systematized the scattered array of ego-documents and noted that despite the significant amount of literature on St. Luka, there has been no comprehensive study dedicated specifically to the ego-documents of the Siberian period. This determines the novelty of the presented work. The Introduction substantiates the relevance of the topic through the prism of modern historical science and regional studies. The main part provides a detailed analysis of three key groups of sources: Voyno-Yasenetsky's memoirs, his epistolary legacy, and the recollections of witnesses. More than 40 separate editions of the autobiographical book "I Fell in Love with Suffering..." were identified between 1995 and 2025, indicating a sustained public interest in the saint's personality. It is shown that Voino-Yasenetsky's letters clarify and supplement the facts revealed in the memoirs. The testimonies of colleagues at work, patients, etc. presented in the article show a multidimensional image of the saint. In conclusion, the problems of preserving the documentary heritage are considered and specific solutions are proposed (creation of an electronic database of EGO documents, the need for digitization, establishment of cooperation between archives and private owners, etc.).
