This article discusses the life of the eminent Hanafi jurist Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr, the characteristics of the era in which he lived, and his invaluable scholarly legacy. It also presents a critical analysis of the differing opinions among scholars regarding the period he lived in and the date of his death, as well as theories about his affiliation with the 'Margilani' family and his possible descent from Burhoniddin Marginani. Furthermore, the article clarifies the inconsistencies found in historical records regarding the names of his father, uncle, and teachers. The study also examines his works, including 'Majma'ul Fatawa' and 'Khizanatul Fatawa', which hold significant value in Islamic legal scholarship. Additionally, the article explores the factors that led to the compilation of 'Khizanatul Fatawa' and provides an overview of its manuscript copies preserved in Uzbekistan and other global manuscript collections.
