This article examines the theoretical and practical significance of teaching English for Specific Purposes (ESP) in technical education. It analyzes the role of English in preparing technical specialists for professional activities, with particular attention to the acquisition of professional terminology, work with technical texts, and the development of professional communication skills. The study considers ESP, communicative and competency-based approaches, needs analysis, and the potential of digital learning tools. The findings demonstrate the importance of organizing ESP instruction around students’ real professional needs. The integration of authentic materials, interactive tasks, and digital technologies is substantiated as an effective means of developing students’ professional communicative competence. The article also provides methodological recommendations for improving ESP instruction in technical education.
